Syrian army says towns in E Ghouta fully liberated


The Syrian army announces it has fully retaken all of the towns and villages in Eastern Ghouta from militant groups. g on the outskirts of the city of Douma. Meanwhile negotiators in Douma have reached a deal with the Russian side to evacuate the wounded to militant-held northern Syria. Douma is the biggest city in Ghouta and was controlled by the Saudi-backed Jaish al-Islam terrorist group. The Syrian army began its operation in Eastern Ghouta in February in a bid to push out armed groups operating in the Damascus countryside. Nearly 150000 militants and their family members have so far left the region.
