Trump ordered Mueller fired last June

According to a US media report, last June President Donald Trump ordered the dismissal of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who heads a probe into potential Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election. The New York Times reports that Trump backed down after the White House top attorney threatened to resign rather than follow his order. According to the report, Trump had argued that Mueller had conflicts of interest that disqualified him from overseeing the Russia probe. Meanwhile, Trump's attorney has announced that more than 20 White House employees have been questioned by Mueller’s team. Trump himself has confirmed that he may be questioned in two to three weeks, saying he is looking forward to do the interview under oath.
