Hurricane Harvey: Some Houston schools to be closed for months

A week after the U-S state of Texas was hammered by Hurricane Harvey, the region is still engulfed in crisis. The city of Beaumont that lost its drinking water system to floods is struggling to restore service. Also firefighters kept monitoring a crippled chemical plant that has been the scene of explosions and fires twice since the storm hit Texas. Meanwhile, more than 2-hundred school districts throughout the state have experienced delays because of flood-damaged buildings. U-S President Donald Trump has authorized a 15 percent raise in level of federal funding for debris removal and emergency protective measures. Trump is visiting storm-battered Texas to meet with rescuers and survivors of the natural disaster. Harvey has claimed nearly 50 lives so far.
