Hundreds of militants who had been battling the Syrian army and allied forces are evacuating an enclave near Lebanon’s border with Syria.
Scores of buses that got to the mountainous region of Arsal are carrying some 350 armed militants and their families to Syria’s territory. Media outlets of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah report they are heading to a militant-held town in Syria’s Eastern Qalamoun region. Around three-thousand Syrian refugees will also return to a government-held area across the border. This follows a recent swift Hezbollah operation that purged Nusra Front terrorists from the Arsal region. Only two enclaves held by Daesh terrorists remain in militant hands on the border. The Lebanese army is expected to lead an imminent offensive to remove a years-long terror threat to towns and villages.
