The U-S administration has for the second time extended Iran’s sanctions relief based on a quarterly requirement mentioned in the nuclear deal between Tehran and the P-five-plus-one group.
The administration has told Congress that Iran has complied with the agreement, but breached the deal in spirit. Administration officials also said on Monday that new sanctions would be imposed on Iran for its non-nuclear activities, including its ballistic missiles program. The U-S imposed similar sanctions on Iran back in April. Iran has condemned the sanctions and Washington’s failure to fulfill its commitments under the nuclear deal.
