US Sessions defends decision to fire Comey

The U-S attorney general has strongly rejected any collusion with the Russian government to undermine the 20-16 U-S presidential election.

Jeff Sessions made the comments as he was testifying before the senate intelligence committee investigating links between the U-S president and Russia. Sessions insisted that nothing improper occurred during his two meetings in 20-16 with Russian ambassador to the U-S Sergey Kislyak. The attorney general defended the decision to recuse himself from the investigation saying the department of justice rules required him to do so. However Sessions said recusing himself did not limit his powers to recommend the firing of former F-B-I chief James Comey.
