US: Pyongyang could become global threat

The US Undersecretary of State has voiced concern about the possible success of North Korea’s nuclear and inter-continental missile programs.
Thomas Shannon made the comments in Tokyo where he held a meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister’s top national security advisor. Later on Tuesday, Shannon will travel to Seoul to discuss the issue of North Korea with South Korean officials. Tensions have recently intensified on the Korean Peninsula following a number of missile tests by the North, and with the U-S raising the prospects of a military confrontation.
