Two suspected visa fraudsters,
31-year-old Awolola Segun Sesan and 28-year-old Adebayo Rilwan Ajasa,
have been apprehended by the Police Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Milverton,
Lagos.
This is just as the unit also arrested
one Afolabi Olubunmi, a single mother from Osun State, who procured a
fake United Kingdom (UK) visa with passport number A0055907.
The visa fraudsters were arrested for
forging visa payment slips, procuring fake visas and editing the fake
visas using Corel Draw application in Microsoft word to edit the payment
slips.
Trouble started for the duo when Ajasa
received the sum of N60,000 from an applicant (name withheld) into his
Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) account to procure appointment/visa fee for
his son.
He however ended up buying an already
used payment receipt belonging to another applicant from his partner,
Sesan, for the sum of N30,000.
In his confessional statement, Ajasa
said he had booked over 20 online applications for a fee between N20,000
to N15,000 only, but had never defrauded them.
