Turkey warns of retaliation in case of threats
The Kurdish-Arab alliance of SDF has entered the Daesh-held city of
Raqqah, hours after it kicked off a major operation to dislodge the
terrorists from the city in northern Syria. A commander for the Syrian
Democratic Forces said the troops entered the city from the east while
fierce clashes are underway in the northern and western fronts. A
UK-based Observatory group reported advances by the SDF on the outskirts
of the city. Meanwhile, Turkey has warned it would retaliate if the
Raqqah operation poses threats. SDF has long envisaged recapturing
Raqqah from Daesh. The operation is expected to be tough as Daesh
terrorists have already erected defenses to protect their self-declared
capital. The terror group is suffering great losses in neighboring Iraq.
