Top US diplomat in China resigns "in protest to climate deal

The U-S charge d’affaires in China has resigned reportedly in protest against President Donald Trump’s withdrawal of the U-S from the Paris climate agreement.
The U-S Embassy in Beijing said the decision by David Rank has been a personal one. The embassy did not comment on any connection of Rank’s decision to Trump’s climate move. Trump has faced a strong backlash for his decision both in the U-S and abroad. A poll, published on Monday, shows 59 percent of Americans oppose ditching the 20-15 agreement, saying it will damage the global standing of the U-S.
