Police shoot attacker outside Notre Dame in Paris

 Police responded to an incident outside the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris with local media reporting they shot an attacker armed with a hammer, Tuesday.

Police have the area on lockdown with some locked inside the cathedral. The public have been urged to stay away.
