Congolese register for General Election, date still uncertain
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Congolese are flocking to various
sites across the country to register to vote for the next presidential
elections. Already, 24 million voters have so far been registered to
vote. The process of registering millions of other voters is expected to
take about three months. The presidential and parliamentary elections
are being expected in December. However, the electoral commission says
elections could again be postponed due to a lack of funding and delays
in registering the millions of voters. Despite this uncertainty, many
Congolese are eager to exercise their democratic right.
