A
bomb went off at Fadama Raka in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa
State Thursday night, killing two persons while four others were injured
and are receiving treatment at a hospital in Hong town.
An
eyewitness said that an unknown vehicle believed to belong to suspected
members of the Boko Haram insurgents stopped by a roadside in the town
and the driver handed a polythene bag to two children instructing them
to give the bag, which he said contained money, to their father.
The
eyewitness said that the children not knowing that they had been
deceived as the bag not only contained money but bombs took the bag to
their father.
The
source claimed that as soon as the driver handed the polythene bag to
the children, he drove away, adding that the bomb went off while the
children were on their way home, killing two of them and injuring
another four.
The
spokesman of the Adamawa State Police Command, Othman Abubakar,
confirmed the incident Friday, saying two persons were killed and two
injured.
The command’s spokesman, Othman Abubakar, disclosed this on Friday
saying that two children were deceived by a driver suspected to be a
member of the Boko Haram who handed a polythene bag to them to take to
their father.
He said unknowingly to them, the bag did not contain only
money but it was wrapped up with a bomb as he further explained that
the bomb blasted on their way home and killed them at the spot and two
persons close by where injured.
