75 tower blocks fail safety tests in Britain

Britain has increased the number of high-rise apartment blocks that have failed fire safety tests following a recent deadly blaze in London’s Grenfell Tower. The government says 75 buildings have so far failed the checks. The administration also called for inspecting nearly 600 residential buildings which potentially have similar cladding to that of Grenfell Tower. The program to test the cladding comes as it is thought to have helped the fire spread quickly through the major tower. 79 people were killed after the tower caught fire in the middle of this month. Officials say some victims would never be identified due to the intensity of the fire.
