Berlin suggests charging UK for EU market access

Germany has proposed giving Britain access to the European single market in return for a fee after the Brexit process is completed.
Local media have quoted a German Finance Ministry report as saying that charging Britain would reduce the cost of Brexit. The report says Britain’s departure from the EU would cost Berlin an additional five billion dollars per year. The expense is estimated to have an impact on the real economy and its stability. According to the report, Brexit would also put additional strain on German tax and customs officials as there would be new tax liabilities for British products and services.
