The six Iranian presidential contenders have taken part in the first live TV debate in the run-up to the May 19th election. The live TV debates seek to prevent the candidates from running costly election campaigns while allowing them to outline their plans transparently. The presidential hopefuls expounded on a whole range of matters with social issues taking the center stage.
