Trump praises military for using "mother of all bombs"

US President Donald Trump has praised the military for bombing Afghanistan with the largest non-nuclear bomb.

Trump made the comments after the U-S military used the bomb, known as the mother of all bombs for the first time in combat. A Pentagon spokesperson earlier said that the bomb contained 11 tonnes of explosives. The official noted that the bomb was dropped on a cave complex allegedly used by Daesh terrorists in Nangarhar province. There has been no assessment of casualties as of yet and it is not clear how much damage the bomb has done. The US has time and again claimed it carried out airstrikes against Daeah and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. But facts on the ground indicate that many civilians have fallen victims to such attacks.
