People all around the world are marking Earth Day with demonstrations, demanding action on global warming.
In the US city of Washington DC, scientists got together to voice their anger at President Donald Trump’s decision to cut the climate research budget. Similar rallies were held in other US cities including Chicago and New York. In Australia, Germany, the UK and many other countries people also took to streets to hold -“March for Science”. The demonstrators urged their governments to take up measures to stop and reverse global warming. In 2016, leaders from many countries around the world convened in the French capital Paris and agreed to reduce global emissions of greenhouse gases. The new US administration, however, is mulling to pull out of the deal with Trump saying climate change is just a hoax.
