North Korea has held a massive military parade to mark the 105th anniversary of the birth of the country’s founding father amid an ever-growing escalation of tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
Thousands of army soldiers took part in the celebration, which coincides with the latest US threats against North Korea over its nuclear program. The country’s leader and high-ranking military officials attended the parade. Pyongyang has issued a stern warning against Washington, calling on the White House to end its military hysteria or face retaliation. The developments came as speculations suggest that North Korea may conduct a sixth nuclear weapons test if provoked by what it describes as the United States’ hostile policy toward the East Asian country.
