Mass hunger strike at Israeli jails enter 4th day

A mass hunger strike by about 1500 Palestinians against their harsh conditions in Israeli jails has entered its fourth day.

The striking prisoners are demanding their basic rights including receiving regular visits as well as appropriate medical coverage. In a solidarity move with the hunger strikers, Palestinian women in an Israeli prison have launched protest measures. They have also vowed to continue their protest as far as the hunger strike of the prisoners keeps going on. Meanwhile, lawyers from organizations that aid Palestinian prisoners in Israel announced a boycott of all Israeli court sessions since Tuesday. This after the Israel Prison Service prevented the lawyers from meeting with hunger-striking prisoners.
