The Palestinian Authority has said it will stop paying Israel for the electricity used in Gaza Strip.
Israeli officials say Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has threatened to exert financial pressure on the resistance movement Hamas to cede control of Gaza. As Gaza’s main power supply is unable to provide more than four hours of power each day, around two-million residents of the Gaza Strip are suffering from a shortage of vital services. Hamas has condemned the Palestinian Authority over its decision to stop funding electricity in Gaza.
