"229 killed by US-led airstrikes since 2014"

Pentagon says US-led airstrikes in Syria and Iraq have likely caused nearly 230 civilian deaths since the offensive began in 2014.
The U-S military made the announcement as it was updating the official number of casualties. The figure is far lower than what activists, rights groups and local officials have said. According to monitoring group Airwars, coalition airstrikes have killed more than 28-hundred civilians. Pentagon’s tally does not include civilian casualties in March 2017 which could potentially be the deadliest month of US-led attacks. The coalition forces bombarded Iraq’s Mosul several times in March. But the attack on March 17 is reported to be the deadliest with hundreds of civilian casualties. Iraq is probing the deadly US-led attacks in the western district of Mosul’s Jadida.
