Wikileaks says it has published CIA hacking secrets

WikiLeaks has published new documents that show the US Central Intelligence Agency has been using numerous hacking tools to steal information from personal computers, cell-phones and other devices.

Android, IOS, OSX, Linux computers and even internet routers have been targeted by the so-called cyber-weapons. A range of Samsung smart TVs were targeted using tools that secretly recorded audio from the users’ homes and transferred them to CIA over the Internet. The documents suggest that the agency also tried to take video snapshots. Hacking tools have also targeted iPhones and iPads letting CIA see the owner’s location and activate their device’s camera and microphone and read their text messages. The agency has been able to read messages on many chat services such as Whatsapp, Signal, Telegram and Weibo. CIA officials have rejected media’s request to comment on the leaked information.
