The disgraced MMA fighter known as War Machine has declared his
happiness and wants to say sorry to the former porn star girlfriend he beat to a pulp.
War Machine, who legally changed his name from Jon Koppenhaver during his MMA career, was convicted earlier this month of savagely battering former girlfriend Christine Mackinday.
He is facing up to 30 years in prison for the brutal assault, reports The New York Post.
On Monday, Koppenhaver took to Twitter, declaring he's finally happy
to face life behind bars without parole, embracing Christianity and
wants Mackinday, to visit him in jail.
He tweeted: “Would you
believe me, though, if I said that I have nothing but joy inside, even
now as I am sure to receive some type of life sentence? It’s true."

after he attacked her in 2014.
Koppenhaver, 35, was convicted of 29 charges including kidnapping and
sexual and domestic assault stemming from the August 2014 attack on his
former girlfriend and her male companion in her Las Vegas home.
He evaded two charges of attempted murder.
Koppenhaver's
statement goes on to directly appeal to Mackinday, 25, widely known as
porn star Christy Mack, who suffered a broken nose, lacerated liver,
lost teeth and other injuries from the assault.
"One day when
enough time has passed, and when your wounds are fully healed, I hope
that you will write to me, or, perhaps, even visit me, so that I can
apologise completely, and so that I can tell you about all that I have
found in regard to god."
Koppenhaver's lawyer, Jay Leiderman, said
he plans to appeal last week's convictions. He added the Twitter
statement appeared genuine but was unsure how the former MMA fighter
could post it without computer access inside his Las Vegas prison.
Koppenhaver is due to be sentenced on May 10.
