Turkey has summoned the Dutch envoy in Ankara formally protesting the Netherlands’ treatment of Turkish ministers and protesters.
Turkey's Foreign Ministry told the top diplomat that the Dutch police use of force was disproportionate, calling for legal action against police misconduct. Police used dogs and water cannons to disperse hundreds of protesters in Rotterdam. Some protesters threw bottles and stones and several demonstrators were beaten by police. The protests were held after the Netherlands barred Turkish ministers from holding pro-government campaigns in Rotterdam.
