Sturgeon urges UK PM to rethink referendum

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says the British Prime Minister should rethink her refusal to discuss a second independent referendum.
In a text on her planned speech for Scottish National Party, Sturgeon said if Theresa May’s concern about the referendum is its timing, the matter can be discussed. Last week the British premier rejected Scotland’s demand for a new Scottish independent referendum. May says it’s not the time to reopen Scotland's independence debate before Britain leaves the EU. Sturgeon calls May’s refusal undemocratic and a sign of fear of the verdict of Scottish people. The Scottish parliament will pass a bill next week to authorize Sturgeon to seek a legally binding vote on a new referendum.
