The Scottish first minister says she will seek another referendum to split from Britain as London has failed to compromise with Scotland on Brexit.
Nicola Sturgeon said the interest of Scotland can never be ignored and that a referendum will be held after it’s ratified by parliament. She added that the Scottish nation has the right to decide its future as a hard Brexit for Britain is inevitable. Scotland is planning to hold a second referendum on splitting from Britain between fall 2018 and spring 2019 over the British people’s decision to leave the European Union. The British government was quick to react by calling Scotland’s plan for an independence referendum as divisive. London says Edinburgh’s move to seek independence at such a time would cause huge economic uncertainly.
