Russian sappers to clear Palmyra of ISIL explosives

Specialists from Russia's International Mine Action Centre have touched down in Syria to work on mine clearance in and around the ancient city of Palmyra.

Footage released by Russia's Ministry of Defence on Thursday showed troops boarding a military aircraft at Chkalovskiy Airport in Shchyolkovo, Moscow Region and then arriving at Hmeimim Air Base in Syria.
