North Korea ‘tests new high-thrust rocket engine’

North Korea has announced successful testing of its newly-developed rocket engine.

The country's leader Kim Jong-un has hailed the ground test as the rebirth of North Korean rocket industry. Kim personally oversaw the preparations and ordered the launch. North Korea’s official media say that the engine will give Pyongyang world-class capabilities to launch satellites into orbit. North Korea has been accused of using its space program as a cover to test its long-range missiles.
