
Buhari’s spokesman said in a tweet that the president will send a letter to parliament next week to formally resume power. Upon his arrival in Abuja, Buhari had said he would continue to rest and that Vice-President Yemi Osin-bajo would remain in charge. The 74-year-old flew to London in January to have his routine medical check-ups for an undisclosed condition. While he was away, there were rumors that Buhari was seriously ill or even dead. Photographs, however, showed him meeting with senior Nigerian politicians.
