In Syria, the first group of foreign-sponsored Takfiri militants and their families is leaving the northern city of Homs under a Russian-brokered agreement signed earlier this week.
About five hundred militants and their families are set to leave al-Waer neighborhood on Saturday. Al-Waer is the last militant-held area in Homs, which has been under government siege since 2013.
Between 10 to 15 thousands people are scheduled to leave the city within six to eight weeks. Officials say the militants and their families would be taken to areas around Aleppo and Idlib. The militants who renounce and condemn violence can stay in Homs under an amnesty law issued by the Syrian government.
