McConnell: State Department cuts will not pass

US Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell says President Donald Trump's proposed cuts in State Department will not win congressional approval.
Republican senator McConnell also said he himself would not support such deep cuts in state department. Earlier on Monday over a hundred-and-twenty retired admirals and generals urged Trump NOT to slash State Department’s funding and spending on the Environmental Protection Agency. The ex-military officials called State Department funding critical to keeping America safe. This came after Trump proposed cuts in some areas as part of his plan to increase the military budget for the next fiscal year beginning in October.
