Israeli law bars entry to boycott supporters

The law passed by a vote of 46-28, received support from both right-wing and centrist parties. It allows the Israeli authorities to cancel visa or deny residence permits to foreigners deemed to be supporting the B-D-S. The movement is part of a global campaign to pressure Israel to withdraw from all occupied Palestinian territories. The BDS has gained support in countries like the U-S, Canada, Norway, Denmark, Romania, South Africa, Australia and the U-K. Israel sees the movement as a strategic threat and accuses it of anti-Semitism, a claim the B-D-S denies.
