Iran condemns deadly US raid on Syria mosque

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has condemned the recent deadly airstrike on a mosque in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi says any attack on holy and religious sites is reprehensible and unjustified. He added that the US cannot shrug off responsibility by justifying things. The US claimed responsibility for an attack, which it says killed over 40 al-Qaeda militants. But it denied any attack on a mosque. Facts on the ground, however, show the attack struck a mosque crowded with worshippers near Aleppo, killing over 40 civilians. US missile debris was also found in the mosque’s rubble.
