In France, clashes have erupted during a protest against police brutality as security forces fire tear gas to disperse demonstrators.

The protesters gathered outside a police station in the capital Paris to denounce a recent police killing of a Chinese man. The Chinese national was shot dead by police at his home on Sunday. Security forces claim the man had attacked a policeman with scissors as the officer responded to reports of a domestic dispute. But the victim’s family denied the allegation. China's Foreign Ministry has lodged an official protest, calling for an immediate investigation into the incident. It also called for Chinese people's security and rights to be protected. On Monday, people in Paris clashed with the police during a similar protest against the killing.
