The
Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, has denounced an Israeli bill
that would limit calls to prayers from mosques in occupied East
Jerusalem al-Quds.Hamas warned that such a law would face stiff resistance. Deputy Head of Hamas's political bureau Ismail Haniya also said that the bill will not finally pass. Israel’s parliament gave preliminary approval to two measures in this regard on Wednesday. Three more readings are required before they can become law. One of the bills would completely ban places of worship from using loudspeakers during all hours. The other one would ban loudspeakers between 11 pm and 7 am, which encompasses the first of Islam's five daily calls to prayers.
