The European Parliament has voted to lift French far-right leader Marine Le Pen’s immunity from prosecution.
A majority of lawmakers in Brussels voted in favor of the motion over Le Pen’s tweets containing disturbing photos of Daesh’s atrocities. The French politician, who’s also a lawmaker in the legislative body, posted the photos after a journalist resembled her anti-immigration party to the terror group. Le Pen will now face prosecution following the EU parliament’s vote. The far-right leader is contending for France’s presidential election slated in April. She’s been running her campaign with attacks on immigrants and the refugees fleeing war and persecution in their home countries.
