Erdogan accuses Germany of "harboring terror

Tensions between Turkey and Germany show no sign of ending. In his latest reactions, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused Germany of aiding and harboring terrorism.

Erdogan stressed that German officials should face trial for supporting terrorists. The remark was made following Berlin’s cancellation of two Turkish ministers’ plan to hold a political rally ahead of the April referendum on expanding the Turkish president’s powers. German politicians say the scrapping of pro-Erdogan events was made in response to the continued detention of a German-Turkish journalist in Turkey – whom the Turkish president says is a German spy agent. Meanwhile, the Netherlands has expressed its opposition to what’s been described as undesirable plans by Ankara to hold a referendum campaign there.
