Preparations are underway in the northern Syrian city of Homs to
evacuate foreign-sponsored Takfiri militants and their families. Buses are now entering al-Waer neighborhood in Homs to begin the transfer. Al-Waer is the last militant-held neighborhood in Homs, which has been under government siege since 2013. Between 10 to 15000 people are scheduled to leave the city within six to eight weeks. Officials say the militants and their families would be taken to an area around the border city of Jarablus. The evacuation is part of a Russian-brokered deal signed between the militants and the Syrian government about one week ago. The militants who renounce and condemn violence can stay in Homs under an amnesty law issued by the Syrian government.
