“Building homes on Palestinian land unlawful”

The UN high commissioner for human rights has expressed concerns over rights violations in different parts of the world, including the occupied Palestinian territories. In an annual speech to the UN Human Rights Council, Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein denounced the Israeli regime’s approval of a plan to construct more than five thousand new settlement units in territories owned by Palestinians. He also said that Israel’s blockade of Gaza amounts to collective punishment and deprives Palestinians of access to basic goods and services. Elsewhere in his speech, the top U-N official expressed concern over US President Donald Trump’s executive order, which bans immigrants from entering the country.
