An al Qaeda affiliated group in Syria has claimed responsibility for this weekend’s twin attacks which reportedly left more than 70 people dead.
Tahrir al Sham terrorist group which includes Jabhat Fateh al-Sham says it is responsible for the attacks in Damascus which targeted Shia pilgrims on Saturday. A London based monitoring group says the death toll, which was initially placed at around 45, has risen to 74. 43 Iraqi pilgrims are among the victims of the blasts. Damascus says the bombings are in reaction to the Syrian Army’s recent victories against foreign-backed militants and Daesh terrorists.
