The top Palestinian envoy to the US has warned against moving the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem al-Quds.
Maen Rashid Areikat slammed what he called an emotional decision to relocate the U-S embassy. Areikat stressed that the move would have negative repercussions and that it could deliver a hefty blow to any prospects of the resolution of the decades-long Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The developments came as U-S president Donald Trump has expressed his willingness to relocate the embassy. The US plan has infuriated Palestinians who want the West Bank as their future independent state, with East Jerusalem al-Quds as its capital.
