US appeals court upholds suspension of Trump travel ban

A federal appeals court in the U-S has ruled to uphold a suspension of President Trump’s order that banned entry from several nations. The 9th U-S Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously ruled against Trump; saying the U-S government had not offered any evidence justifying the ban. The ruling came in a challenge to Trump’s order filed by the states of Washington and Minnesota. In January, Trump signed a controversial directive banning the entry of citizens from seven Muslim majority nations for 90 days. The directive also suspends refugee admissions for 120 days while suspending the admission of Syrian refugees indefinitely. In a tweet after the ruling, Trump vowed to challenge the appeals court ruling saying the security of the nation was at stake. The Supreme Court will likely determine the case’s final outcome next.
