A group of UN human rights experts have voiced deep concern over US
President Donald Trump’s travel ban on Muslim countries. In a statement,
the UN experts said the president’s order is discriminatory toward
international humanitarian and human rights law. The independent experts
also reiterated that the US policy on immigration could lead to people
risk being subjected to torture and other cruel, inhumane treatment when
they are sent home. Meanwhile, Vatican City’s deputy secretary of
state, Archbishop Angelo Becciu says the Roman Catholic Church is
worried about Trump’s move and added that Pope Francis insists on the
ability to integrate those who arrive in Christian societies and
cultures.
