The U-N Secretary-General says the U-S decision to block a former Palestinian prime minister from leading the UN political mission in Libya was QUOTE a serious mistake.
Guterres said the UN pick for the job Salam Fayyad was the right person in the right place at the right time. Last week Washington blocked the proposed appointment of Fayyad, saying it was acting to support its ally, Israel. Fayyad served as the Palestinian prime minister from 2007 to 20-13.
