UN calls for $2.1bn fund to help Yemeni people

The United Nations has called for over two billion dollars in aid money to save the Yemeni people who face the threat of famine after two years of Saudi strikes on their country.

UN official says nearly 19 million Yemenis - more than two-thirds of the population - need food and other assistance to survive. McGoldrick says Yemen’s infrastructure including ports, and bridges have been hit and the economy is being willfully destroyed.
