UN-backed Geneva meeting enters 3rd day

The UN-sponsored peace talks aimed at reaching a political agreement to end the conflict in Syria enter their third day in Geneva.
The talks kicked off on Thursday, about 10 months after falling apart over escalating violence in the war-torn country. There’s no report on the outcome of the past two days of dialog. Syria's UN ambassador Bashar al-Ja'afari is leading the government delegation. The foreign-backed opposition team, also known as High Negotiations Committee is led by Nasr al-Hariri. The two sides met face-to-face for the first time in three years at the start of the meeting. Also attending the talks are the members of the UN Security Council and the representatives of the so-called International Syria Support Group. UN Special Envoy Staffan de Mistura has already held separate meetings with the Syrian sides and handed them the agenda papers.
