US President Donald Trump finds likely allies at this year's Conservative Political Action Conference, a yearly gathering of Republicans. He is the first US president to attend the CPAC after Ronald Reagan, and he promised to come often. Trump has a reason for favoring the CPAC. It is the group that gave him one of his first platforms in his bid for the US presidency and the first to defend his "America first" policies. His appearance cheered up many. Take a listen to the discussion with Timothy Hagle from the University of Iowa; Bradley Blakeman, a Republican strategist who served on President George W. Bush’s senior staff as deputy assistant to the president for appointments and scheduling; and, Joel Rubin, president of the Washington Strategy Group and former deputy assistant secretary of state.
