Trump defends travel ban policy

The US president Donald Trump has defended his travel ban measure saying his executive order slaps restrictions on travelers entering the US simply to ensure national interest.

Donald Trump made the remarks during a campaign rally in Florida. Trump added that he would build safe zones in Syria and other places to prevent refugees from coming to the US. He also attacked NATO members and said they were not contributing their share of the budget to the military alliance. He further continued to slam media, dismissing them as dishonest. Trump claimed he was the victim of false reporting, and called for a campaign to fight the press. Trump also said he had inherited one big mess from his predecessor. This comes as Trump has been in the hot seat amid reports of disarray and dysfunction within his administration.
