Syria: US to supply SDF with heavy weapons

A spokesman for the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces says the US has promised to supply the group with heavy weapons.

Talal Sello says the promise was made by head of the US Central Command General Joseph Votel during a trip to northern Syria. According to the spokesman, the US general discussed with top SDF commanders different issues, including more Washington support for the SDF forces during the Trump administration. He said different military matters were also discussed during the meetings. The SDF is an alliance of Kurdish and Arab militants fighting the Daesh terrorist group. It enjoys Washington’s support.
